A small group intensive weekend exploring how the first six runes guide us to walking a path of your choosing, whilst wild camping on beautiful Dartmoor.

Odin gave his eye to know the secrets of the runes all you have to give is some time, money and most importantly give yourself to yourself.

Limited spaces, some camping equipment for hire.

We will explore the concepts of the first six runes; beauty and value, how the land shape’s us as much as we shape it, the conditions for our own growth, the spear of self, the path less travelled and the inner hearth fire.

Through these runes and Norse spiritual concepts of Önd, Megan, Örlog, Wyrd and more we'll discover how they show us the path we are on and the path we could take beyond this weekend experience for you to journey with in your own way.

Through a mixture of nature connection, the gods, meditation, chanting, self-reliance skills, fireside discussion, guided visualisation and walking the land we'll explore finding your Futhark together.

Set in a woodland within a Deer park on Dartmoor we will wild camp amongst the beautiful trees, boulders and moss next to a stunning river. There are places available for those who wish to use a small 1 or 2 person tent, hammock or bivvy. Our wild camping experience will be supported by a cabin for our culinary needs and additional shelter from the elements.
For those who do not have camping equipment a shared room within the cabin is available at additional cost, the room will be shared by two or three people with camp bed, sleeping bag and pillow provided.

The cabin also has a long drop toilet with toilet seat, luxury for the wild camper within you!

There is no phone signal or power at our location so be prepared for being off grid! Signal can be found by ascending a nearby hill.

The Valley we’re in can reach cold temperatures at night even in summer as the cold rolls down from the moors and accumulates, I suggest bringing winter levels of insulation.
Essentially we are wild camping so by attending you are agreeing to take personal responsibility for your own dryness, comfort and safety. Please see recommended kit list...
Food and water
There is a spring on site so we will be drinking the nourishing water direct from the moors, it is still recommended that all water is either boiled or filter before consumption. Filtering will be provided but do also bring your own if you have one.

A basic breakfast, dinner, tea, herbal tea and coffee will be provided, with both vegan, vegetarian and meat options available.

Please bring lunch, snacks and any special dietary required foods. If you have any questions about food arrangements, please get in touch.

Accessibility
The Journey begins here... access to our wild camping starts from the nearby village, 2.5 km off road and uphill. It is recommended to walk with your accoutrements as a way of deepening into the land and the wilderness.

It is not recommended to drive up the track unless you have a 4x4 with adequate ground clearance. For those that may require additional help a shuttle service will run at certain times from the nearby village.

The last part of the journey to camp site will be a short distance over sloped loose and uneven ground. There is accessibility challenges to this location so if you have any mobility concerns or accessibility needs please get in touch.

Parking, locations and shuttle service details will be provided with your booking confirmation email.
weather
The Dartmoor weather is legendary and we will use whatever weather we experience has a way of listening to what more the runes and the land have to say to us, so please be prepared for being out in all weather.
This experience is not about pitting ourselves against the elements of nature but rather learning self reliance skills that will allow us to move between appropriate levels of comfort and discomfort as part of connecting more deeply with land, self and runes. Please see recommended kit list as this is what I use weather snow, rain, sun to stay with the experience rather than run for cover.
